Telescope Health Earns Prestigious URAC Accreditation for Telehealth
Nationally recognized designation identifies commitment to quality health care
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. (July 31, 2025) – Telescope Health, a physician-led technology company focused on improving health care outcomes, is proud to announce it has earned URAC Accreditation for Telehealth. URAC is the independent leader in promoting healthcare quality by setting high standards for clinical practice, consumer protections, performance measurement, operations infrastructure and risk management. The designation, which includes a seal that’s displayed on the company website, comes as Telescope Health continues to expand its virtual care services to a growing number of patient populations.
“We’re impacting lives every day by reducing barriers to care, and this accreditation validates that we’re doing it the right way,” said Telescope Health CEO and Co-Founder Dr. Matthew Thompson. “There’s power in transparency, which we leverage in how we address gaps in care, but also in how we fundamentally operate. This accreditation champions that, and we’re honored to be recognized as one of a select few organizations that can meet the standards required to be an enterprise solution for payers, TPAs, municipalities and benefit administrators.”
Telescope Health’s virtual care delivery is improving patient outcomes through strategic partnerships, including with the City of Jacksonville, Florida, on a program called Healthlink JAX. This virtual care service provides resources to those without health insurance in Duval County, which includes more than 100,000 people. In the first nine months of operation, the program has diverted nearly $8 million in anticipated ER costs by addressing health needs virtually. Telescope Health serves as the triage component of the program by responding to patient needs via phone and, if necessary, connecting patients to a doctor on a video call as well as scheduling follow-up visits with local providers and offering options for filling prescriptions.
“Organizations that earn a Telehealth Accreditation demonstrate that they are operating at exceptionally high standards in this continuously growing area of care delivery,” said URAC President and CEO, Shawn Griffin, MD. “URAC’s Telehealth Accreditation shows Telescope Health’s excellence at the important intersection of clinical best practices and technological safety and security.”
URAC’s process requires applicants to submit comprehensive policies, procedures and workflows. URAC’s accreditation process validates compliance with nationally recognized health care standards and supports improvements and innovation in care management and service delivery for the long term.
