Telescope Health Announces New CEO

JACKSONVILLE, Fla., February 14, 2023 – Telescope Health, an innovative healthcare solutions company dedicated to addressing critical gaps in care, is proud to announce its new Chief Executive Officer is co-founder Dr. Matthew Thompson. Dr. Thompson previously served as Telescope Health’s Chief Operating Officer since the company’s founding in 2018. He will replace fellow co-founder Dr. Matthew Rill, who is stepping down as CEO to transition to his role as Strategic Advisor and Chairman of the Board for Telescope Health.

Drs. Rill and Thompson, both emergency physicians, founded Telescope Health after seeing countless emergency department patients without timely access to a primary care physician or Care Navigation services. They combined clinical expertise with in-house Care Navigation to help patients access comprehensive care and navigate their health needs. Additionally, during the pandemic, Telescope Health provided COVID-19 testing to more than 30,000 patients in northeast Florida and partnered with the City of Jacksonville to administer free testing to patients from August 2021 through the end of 2022.

Telescope Health now serves more than 75,000 patients, provides virtual service for three health systems, and has proven itself as an asset in value-based models. The company’s leadership team has grown to include experts with extensive experience in technology, patient experience, provider training, and value-based care.

Dr. Thompson will continue his service to the local healthcare community as a board-certified emergency room physician. He received his medical doctorate from the University of Kansas School of Medicine and completed his emergency medicine residency and fellowship at the University of Arizona.
